Pluto appeal launch a great success

We are extremely happy with the successful launch of the Pluto appeal, Gliffix joined other major companies such as Waitrose, Sainsburys and Philips to ensure the launch went smoothly. The Pluto Appeal staff looked professional in the custom printed polo’s as evident in the picture below.

The launch which was a star studded affair has so far raise £30,538 and was covered a wide variety of press including the BBC and ITV.

Gliffix goes worlwide

We recently printed shirts for the Anse-La-Raye (St. Lucia) Association UK who took part in 12 Bridges of London Sponsored Walk in aid of St Lucia Sickle Cell Association. The walk took place on 26th June and £1,887.30 was raised for the St Lucia Sickle Cell Association.

Gliffix prints for the Pluto appeal

This week we have had the exciting opportunity of working with a unique charity that aims to improve the lives of thousands of children through the innovative use of technology, specifically a robot named pluto.

Pluto will be the first robot dedicated to paediatric surgery in the South of England. Using the most advanced technology available today, the da Vinci Surgical System enables surgeons to perform delicate and complex operations through a few tiny incisions with increased vision, precision, dexterity and control

The only other robot in England can be found at Leeds Children’s Hospital. The USA benefits from over 300 children’s surgical robots in comparison to only one in the UK.

We have teamed up with the Pluto Appeal to create 35 bespoke polo’s that will be worn by the appeal staff at the launch of the appeal on Wednesday 29th June 2011. The charity appeal launch at the altitude 360 black in theMillbank Tower, will be hosted byJason Bradbury (The Gadget Show) who will be also auctioning exclusive high tech gadgets on the day.

Gliffix steps up it’s fight against Leukaemia

Last week we supported another worthy cause when printed t-shirts for the ACLT donate for Kye recruitment drive. Kye Carpenter is a two-year-old boy with leukaemia. He has recently relapsed and is currently back in hospital.

Kye’s family and supporters at the recruitment drive wore the shirts on the 18th June at Choice FM Studios in Leicester Square. The drive was a successful day as just under 500 donor registrations for bone marrow, blood and organ register.

We are extremely glad to say that after all the hard work a potential match has been found for Kye. We hope his transplant is successful and encourage people of black and mixed race origin to join the register, as there are many people in need of help.

Gliffix is back with a bang

We have been quite for a while but allot has been going on behind the scenes.
The last 2 months have been jammed packed with printing, meeting new suppliers and working within our community to raise the awareness of Maximum Image Impact. People are realising more and more that the best way to get a message across is to print it!

As you are aware from our previous blog post we were involved in the campaign to help the ACLT raise £80,000 for survival.
Amazingly they exceeded their goal.

Gliffix got involved by teaming up with one of our trusted t-shirts suppliers to supply the ACLT with their new themed T-shirts. The shirts were worn at the Daniel De-Gale Trophy game which featured Ex-Pros and celebrities.

Beverley De Gale and Orin Lewis expressed their appreciation for our support and stated they were ‘happy with everything especially the quality of the fabrics and the printed designs’.

The video below is a detailed tutorial and walk through of how to separate colours in adobe Photoshop so you can create the film negatives to screen print with. This is the process the occurs prior to the creation of the printing screen and will give you a better understanding of colour separation on will improve your understanding of how to design with the end product in mind.

Help save the ACLT’ Charity Appeal

The ACLT urgently needs to raise at least £80K by end March 2011.
£80,000 will keep the ACLT going for a further 6 months until September 2011.

They will need much much more to continue to support and save the lives of patients in life-threatening conditions and their families both now and in the future.
